Crazy About Games Summary
The story "Crazy about Games" talks, about, game such as Monopoly, Parcheesi, checkers, and "Go." Go is a game brought from Japan. There is also a game that is made up, it is based on solitaire. There, is a game called "Double Solitaire." Double, Solitaire is basically, Everyone can play, And you play as fast as you can. Sometimes two or three people try to play on the same card. The game is over when no one when no one has cards left or can move. Then we separate and count all the cards that were played. Whoever put the most cards out is the winner of the game.
Later on in the story, they explain about the unordinary family history with games. Such as, the aunt. The aunt travels a lot. On all of the aunt's adventures, she always carries a deck of cards with her. It has practically been all around the world by now! In the story, it clearly states, "My aunt, who travels a lot, has a game of Go that she brought back from Japan. (She also has a tiny deck of cards she has carried in her purse since she was a teenager. It has been all around the world by now. She whips it out in airports, restaurants, and hotels; she even plays on those little fold-down trays on airplanes). My father collects antique games, which he buys at garage sales."
The family spoken about in this scintillating article likes variety. Because of that, they have an immense selection of games. Yet, if everyone is feeling a little indolent, then they just let loose with a game of chance. Like wise, they also favor games of skill, or games that combine skill and a little luck. Even, though they have all of those other games, they also have a card game that they always play whenever they're together. It's been taught to some people outside the family but it seems that there is not anyone else who has played it before. This unusual and apparently "fresh" game is a variation of the modern game "Solitaire." Solitaire is the game where you start by setting out seven piles of cards in front of you. The ultimate goal is to get all of your cards out, in order by number and suit.
The game, "Double Solitaire" that they've invented is crazy. Whenever ever the game is played, everything is very chaotic. The, more rounds played, the more chaotic it gets. It gets to the point where people suspect that Aunt Jean cheats, no one has ever caught her though. Also, Grandma Hums strategy is to distract everyone else! Aside from all of that, Double Solitaire is still a very entertaining, extravagant game that this family loves to play!
In conclusion, "Crazy About Games" is a story about a family that loves to play games. They play a variety of games. The games include: Monopoly, Parcheesi, checkers, and chess. Also, there is a game called "Solitaire." The family likes that game. They even made a "fresh" variety of it. "Double Solitaire." This family, is certainly, Crazy about Games.
